Papi, that's what I used to call my late father when I was a kid. He often took me out to the farm on Dad’s weekends as it was a kind of a safe haven for him, where he was able to escape from the people as well as from the city. This was also the place where he taught many, many children to ride horses, where he looked after his animals, and where he loved to be the most in the world. This was him, this was the HSH Riding Hall, this was Hubi's farm.

‍Unfortunately, we did not speak to each other for fifteen years for family reasons and We sadly allowed ourselves to be torn apart by lies, differences, prejudices, as well as lack of acceptance and pride.

We lost 15 years of our lives together, and by the time we found each other again, I was already a grown man and he was an uncle. He was also probably seriously ill at the time, we just didn't know it yet. When we eventually met again, He said the 3 things that I have missed my entire life: I missed you, I am proud of you and I love you. I was 35 years old at that point and that's when I became a complete man, that's when I became a real dad.

We held each other through his last week as if nothing else had happened, and indeed, nothing else mattered right there but the immense love. His last wish was for us to come out here to the farm, and then on the last night, his very last words were "Life is beautiful!"

So It became the motto of my life and I vowed to make the place shining the way he always wanted it to.

This story begins where life ends, and according to the eternal cycle of things, with the end of life something new sprouts. And so Papi's Farm and Restaurant became a memorial to the story of a father and son.

I have become the one who creates something new from his father's legacy, and I will pass it onto mine because I also became a father in the meantime, and as my daughter is sitting on my arm, I also realize that I became her Papi now.

What you see here now is a real legacy, one of the most beautiful gifts of my life, which will soon be opened to you, so that the immense love that lives in us from this story may live on in you and nourish many souls. One way or another...

The stables will become a garden center as well as a restaurant and my dad's living space will become a guest space, the best boxes will be turned into an open kitchen, and the riding rooms become workstations. That's how I transformed his world into mine, that's how Papi will continue to shine.

I have entrusted this land to a wonderful man. Gábor Orosz is a chef – and now slowly becoming a farmer - who looks after and manages the estate in a family-like bond with the rest of our team. Our hearts and souls are in it and I am quite sure that Papi will become one of the jewels of the Danube bend.

We will be open soon and we do look forward to welcoming you with love!
Hubert, just like my father.
